March topic:

Implementing Swarm Agile

Distributed agile software teams are commonplace with companies having several sites throughout the world. Lifestyle, environmental, and business reasons exist, though, to extend the level of distribution to a greater degree with individuals largely working at home or community centers. Swarm is a hybrid model that sets a work pattern and expectations for highly virtualized team members with embedding face-to-face sync points. It hinges on a set of team expectations and web communication capabilities supporting collaboration. This talk explores business reasoning for moving to mode of operation and explains why this represents the future for agile groups. The process and teamwork mechanisms necessary for retaining effectiveness, holding to low attrition, and keeping high velocity are presented.
